The Drive

The weather today featured only post-frontal rain showers and isolated thunderstorms. We drove northward through Texas, encountering rain most of the way. We arrived in Wichita Falls in the late afternoon, and by that point, we had driven out of the rain and had mostly sunny skies.

We drove through Kerrville on the way north and ate there for lunch. Entering Kerrville from the south, the road takes you across the Guadalupe River, and looking east from the bridge, you can see evidence of last year's flood on July 4. Some rather large trees remained bent over from the force of the water during that event. I could only think what it must have been like for those who were affected by that devastating heavy rain event.
