The Setup

Some marginal moisture was working its way northwestward up the Rio Grande valley, and we had some chances of storms. Expectations were not high. If storm initiation could hold off, we would be able to see something interesting. Unfortunately, the storms got going early, and the target area was mostly filled with clouds by early afternoon, so we ended the chase early and headed toward Roswell, New Mexico.
